This beautiful kyusu was fired in the East Creek Anagama wood kiln earlier this year. It is made with just clay and wood ash. The dynamic surface is brought by how the flames of the wood fire interact with the clay body and travel around the piece. Mostly downed trees from the coastal mountains of Oregon were used to fired this kiln and create the wood ash. The wood ash melts in the kiln and creates the beautiful sheen the teapot has. It can hold about 450 ml of liquid. It is perfect for ceremonial or ritual use. It is great to brew any type of tea in as well. Please inquire for any more details or questions!
