This is a lovely wood fired ceramic bowl that was fired in the East Creek Anagama this year. It has beautiful flashing marks across the piece. This piece is purely made of only clay and wood ash from the trees of the coastal mountains of Oregon. Wood ash melts as it gets hot in the kiln and creates the sheen on the cup. The path of the flame around the piece interacts with the clay body to give the beautiful flashing marks. This bowl has a lot of wood ash deposited on it as well giving it the varied colors. It is a great bowl to add to any collection! It is great for eating from or serve, or as a center piece.
